On Friday, March 23rd the St. Elizabeth Library Learning Commons hosted two SCRATCH Coding workshops for students. SCRATCH is a programming language originally developed at MIT. This language can be accessed via a very visually appealing and interactive web-based interface that can be used by anyone free of charge.

As the future opportunities for our students in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) as well as in computer coding are ever increasing it is important to encourage the participation of our female students in these growing technical pathway opportunities, as these fields are traditionally dominated by men.
